Tepperman residence
Plateau Mont-Royal,
Montreal, 2003
- Garden
This small residential yard in the heart of Montreal’s Plateau Mont-Royal neighbourhood was used by a couple and their child. Typical of this area of Montreal, the small yard was in a built and shady environment but had great potential.
This project proposed, with simplicity, to extend the wooden deck to allow different activities. A new assorted fence was also integrated, as well as a path with large concrete slabs and new plants. The greenery is sober in its colours, but exuberant in its textures and shapes. The woodwork is made of treated cedar to preserve the natural colour. Given the very shaded environment, hemlock bark mulch was used to replace grass.
A playhouse made of willow branches was also integrated to the project to create a green space full of fantasy and dreams for children.
